535. Joseph Foxcroft Cole (American, 1837-1892), "The Farm Pond", c.1873; oil/canvas, 18" x 27", signed and dated, outstanding original frame; label verso from Doll and Richards, Boston. Cole was influenced by William Morris and the French Barbizon masters, and specialized in pastoral scenes in the Barbizon style.
