548. Frederic Grant (American, b. 1886), "Still life with Bird", c. 1930; oil/canvas, 30" x 30", signed, original frame. Important Chicago landscape and still life painter. Grant studied with William M. Chase and Richard Miller. He exhibited extensively form the 1910s-40s, at the Art Institute of Chicago (1917), Chicago Art Club ( 1918), and the Palm Beach Art Center (1935-37). His work is in the collection of the State Museum in Springfield, Illinois and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. 4000-6000

549. Glen C. Sheffers (American, 1881-1948), "Gypsy Woman", c. 1920; oil/canvas board, 12" x 9", signed. Sheffers studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Academy of Art. He also studied with H. Larvin in Vienna and W.D. Goldbeck in Chicago. As a member of the Palette and Chisel Club, he had numerous solo exhibits. 800-1200

550. Elizabeth Nourse (American, 1859-1938), "Bellini Brothers", c. 1895; oil/canvas, 24.5" x 17", framed, signed, abrasions to surface. Highly important Cincinnati painter. Nourse studied at the Cincinnati School of Design (McMicken School of Art). She exhibited extensively from the 1880s-1920s, at the Paris Salon, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Columbian Expo (Chicago, 1893),St Louis Expo (1904), Royal Academy (London), and the Corcoran Gallery. Her work is in the collections of the Cincinnati Art Museum, National Museum of American Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and the Detroit Institute of Art. 6000-8000
