534. Benjamin Champney (American, 1817-1907), "Along the Coast", c. 1860; watercolor/paper, 14" x 20", signed. Well known 19th century landscape painter. Champney was strongly associated with the White Mountain School, for the time he painted there, and for his enthusiasm for bringing young artists to paint there. His summers were spent in New Hampshire, and his winters in Massachusetts. He was a founding member of the Boston Art Club, and exhibited there and at the Boston Athenaeum, Paris Salons, National Academy of Design, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. 2000-3000

535. Abbott Fuller Graves (American, 1859-1936), "General Store", c. 1905; oil/canvas, 20" x 30", signed. Graves was best known for his flower paintings, but he was also an accomplished genre and figure painter. He was a member of the Boston Art Club, National Academy, and the Salmagundi Club. He opened his own art school in Boston in 1891, which moved to Kennebunkport, Maine before closing in 1902. 6000-8000

536. Carl Weber (American, 1850-1921) "Pastoral Landscape", c. 1900; watercolor, 18" x28", signed. Philadelphia landscape painter, known for this subject. He was a member of the Philadelphia Artist Fund Society and the Philadelphia Art Club. He exhibited in London in 1873 and was awarded a prize; he also exhibited at the Boston Art Club and the National Academy of Design. He frequently worked in watercolor. 1500-2500
