639. George Ames Aldrich (American, 1872-1941), "Breton Village in Winter", c. 1910; oil/board, 16" x 20", signed. Aldrich studied with Whistler and F. Thaulow in France. His specialty was richly painted impressionist scenes of Brittany and Normandy, almost always including water. He exhibited regularly at the Hoosier Salon and the Art Institute of Chicago. He was a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais and the Chicago Society of Painters and Sculptors. 4000-6000

640. Adolph R. Shulz (American, 1869-1963), lot of three drawings, one pictured: "Ernest Calkins", c. 1903; 9" x 7"; the second: "Henderson"s Pasture", 7" x 9", signed; the third: "Fog, Florida", 7" x 8", unsigned. Shulz was born in Delavan, WI. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Art Students League (with Chase), and in Paris. He returned to Delavan in the summers to paint. Adolph began to make trips to Nashville, IN around 1900, and the family eventually moved there permanently in 1917. Adolph was generally considered to be the "father" of the Brown County colony. He exhibited at the Hoosier Salon from 1925-1942. He also exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Milwaukee Art Institute, and the Brown County Gallery Association. 1500-2000
641. Francis Folcer Brown (American, 1891-1971), "Still Life", c. 1930; oil/board, 20" x 24", signed, excellent frame. Brown studied with J.Otis Adams and William Forsyth and exhibited at the Hoosier Salon, Richmond Art Association, and the Corcoran Gallery. He taught at Ball State Teachers College. 2500-3500
642. Glenn Cooper Henshaw attribution (American, 1885-1946), "The Proposition", c.1910; oil/canvas, 14" x 11", unsigned. Although an Indiana painter, Henshaw spent the majority of his time in New York and Paris. He was well known for his "Ashcan" style portraits and street scenes. Henshaw studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts Academy in Paris. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Addison Gallery of American Art, and the Herron Art Institute. 1000-1500
643. Svend Svendsen (Norwegian/American, b. 1864), "Winter Evening", c.1910; oil/board, 18" x 24", signed. Studied at the Ed. Ertz at Academie Delecluse, Paris, 1890s. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago (1895-1920), Nashville Expo (1897), Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (1898-1900), and the Milch Galleries , NY (1920s). 1000-2000
