1428. C. Curry Bohm (American, 1894-1971), "Crashing Waves", c.1940; oil/board, 12" x 16", signed, original frame. Bohm studied at the Art Institute of Chicago in the late 1910s. He began visiting Brown County around 1920, usually spending part of the summer there. He was a charter member of the Brown County Art Gallery Association. He specialized in landscapes, harbor scenes, and coastal scenes, and exhibited at the Hoosier Salon, Art Institute of Chicago, Brown County Art Gallery Association, Chicago Municipal Art League, and the Chicago Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art. His work is included in the collections of the Illinois State Museum, Muncie Art Association, Swope Art Museum, and Indiana University. 1800-2200 |
