1412. Louis Oscar Griffith (American, 1875-1956), "Summer Sky", c.1920; watercolor/paper, 11" x 14", signed. Griffith lived in Texas in the 1890s, and studied with Frank Reaugh, a well known Dallas landscape painter. He also studied at the St Louis School of Fine Art and the Art Institute of Chicago. Griffith painted in Chicago until 1922, when he moved to Nashville, IN. He exhibited at the Hoosier Salon, Brown County Art Gallery Association, Chicago Gallery Association, and the Indianapolis Art Club. His work is included in the collections of the Delgado Museum, Indiana University, Lafayette Art Association, National Gallery of Art, and the J.B. Speed Museum (Louisville). 600-800
