Rare Rookwood plaque, landscape in a green Vellum glaze, extremely rare example of an etched decoration as opposed to painted, Hurley was well known for his etchings and executed a few plaques in this technique, this is one of three we have seen, typically these tiles are a bit thicker than the usual ones, signed by E.T. Hurley and dated 1914, 10.5" x 8", in its original frame, quite nice, mint 7000-9000 |
