| 837. William Freinik (German/American, b.1905), oil on board, 20" x 24", dated 1960. Born in Wattenschied, Germany, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Stuttgard and with Hans Hoffman in Munich (1924-26). He moved to the United States in 1928 and settled in Chicago. He lived there until 1945, when he moved to Seattle. He held major shows at the Gelsenkirchen Art Museum, Germany; Inter Gallery, Brussels; Sebastian Reeve Gallery and the Robert James Gallery, both in California. 600-800 |
