616. Angel Espoy (American, 1879-1963), “Crashing Waves”, c.1920; oil/canvas, 14" x 18", signed. California painter. He studied with Sorolla in Spain. He was a member of the Los Angeles Art Association, and exhibited from the 1910s-30s. He came to New York from Havana in 1904. While living in San Francisco, he supported himself making cartoons for movies. His work is in the collections of the Los Angeles City Hall, Oakland Museum and Loyola University. 2000-3000
