This label gives the artist’s name, the title of the painting, date, and the artist’s address in Chicago at “1322 Independence”. Rare and important African-American painter from Chicago. Jones was born in Lynchburg, Virginia. He moved to Chicago and studied at Hull House and the Art Institute of Chicago. He was a founding member of the National Conf. Artists.
