| 588. A.B. Frost (American, 1887-1917), Temple, c 1910; 24" x 30", oil on canvas. Frost studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, New York School of Art, with Chase and Henri in 1905 ; and with Matisse in 1906 at the Academie Julian,(Paris). He exhibited at the Salon des Independants, 1914; Society of Independent Artists, 1917, in New York. He was the son of the well known illustrator Arthur B. Frost. He met and befriended Patrick Henry Bruce in Paris, and became interested in the work of the Delaunays, producing paintings in which color and form are meant to vibrate. 800-1200 | ||||||
