561. Blanche Dugan Cole (American, b. 1869), “Indian Pueblo”, c. 1910; watercolor/paper, 8.5" x 13.5", signed. Cole was born in Richmond, Indiana. Information about her childhood is unclear, but she did travel to Paris to study, at the Academie Julian and with Whistler, in Paris. There are recorded addresses of her living in Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles. She was a member of the California Art Club, and exhibited at the Society of Western Artists (1898) and the Denver Art Club (1899). She taught art in Los Angeles in 1907. Her work is in the collections of the Santa Fe Railroad and the Denver Public Library. 700-900
