545. Homer G. Davisson (American, 1866-1957), “The Red Maple”, c.1930; oil/board, 16" x 20", signed. Davisson studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Art Students League (NYC), and the Corcoran School of Art (Washington D.C.). Davisson painted in the U.S. and in Europe, and his subject matter was primarily landscapes He exhibited at the Hoosier Salon, Swope Art Gallery, Fort Wayne Art Museum, and the Indiana Art Club. He was a charter member of the Brown County Art Gallery Association in 1926 (Davisson regularly spent time in the summer of each year in Nashville, beginning in 1920). He was a teacher at the Fort Wayne Art School. 1000-1500
