| 537. Frederic Frary Fursman (American, 1874-1943), Edge of the Dunes, c. 1910; oil/canvas, 12" x 16", signed. Fursman studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Art Academy, and in Paris. He returned to Chicago in 1909. He painted landscapes and figures. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago (1910s-20s); Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (1909-10); and the Corcoran Gallery (1916). In 1910, he and Marshall Clute established the Saugatuck (Michigan), or sometimes known as the Ox-Bow Summer School.
