| 517. Carl Oscar August Erickson (American, 1891-1958), Minnehaha Creek, Minneapolis, c. 1939; oil/canvas, 18" x 22", signed, titled. Chicago painter. Erickson studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art and the Art Students League. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Society of Independent Artists, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Like many painters of the time, Ericksons career was divided into fine painting and illustration work. He was a very successful illustrator, working for Vogue for quite some time.
