504. Benjamin J. Beck (American, early 20th century), “Sailing the High Seas”, c. 1927; oil/board, signed and dated. Beck was a marine painter from Chicago. He studied with Leon Lundmark, Frederic Grant, John Spelman, and Stark Davis. He was a member of the All-Illinois Society of Fine Artists and the Society for Sanity in Art. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and he executed a work for the Century of Progress Expo, Chicago. 1000-2000
