481. John Edmund Califano (American, 1862-1946), “Canyon Scene”, c. 1915; oil/canvas, 71" x 51.5", signed, excellent, massive original frame. Califano was born in Rome, and worked in Italy during the 1880s, until he immigrated to the U.S. in 1881. He lived in San Francisco in 1915 and finally settled in Van Nuys. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago (1907); National Academy of Design (1897-99); and in Naples (1880). 4000-6000
