| 473. Donald Deskey (American, b. 1894), Figures in the Moonlight, c. 1925; oil/board, 7" x 8", signed, original frame. Important designer and painter. Deskey studied at the University of California, Art Institute of Chicago, and the Art Students League. Although Deskey is best associated with his innovative industrial designs, he was a very competent painter, executing decorative scenes such as this in the 1920s, and then later, hard edge abstract compositions. 600-800 | ||||||
