| 625. Frederick Doyle Penney (American, 1900-1988), “Smoke Tree Canyon, La Quinta, CA”, c.1953; oil/board, 12" x 16", signed, well framed. Penney moved to Los Angeles in 1924. He spent nearly 30 years painting in the Coachella Valley, near Palm Springs. He was a member of the Laguna Beach Art Association, Shadow Mountain Palette Club, and the California Watercolor Society.
