613. H. Boylston Dummer (American, 1878-1945), “Elk on a Mountainside”, c.1920; oil/canvasboard, 12" x 16", signed. Dummer worked in Massachusetts and was known for his illustrations of natural subjects. He illustrated books for World Book, Ginn and Co., and American Book Co. He studied at the Art Students League, and with Noyes and Carlson. He exhibited at the Whitney Museum of Art, National Academy of Design. Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and the Copley Society (Boston). 600-800
