| 608. Nicolai Fechin (Russian/American, 1881-1955 ), Portrait of a Man, c.1920; charcoal drawing, 15" x 10", signed. Fechin came to the U.S. around 1918, and worked in New York as a portrait painter. He moved to Taos in the 1920s, and painted Mexicans, Indians, and cowboys. He lived in California after the 1930s. His work is included in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of New Mexico, and the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. 2000-3000 |
