752. Kyra Markham (American, 1891-1967), “Abstract Composition”, c. 1960; gouache, 20" x 16", signed and dated. Markham was born in Chicago and studied at the Art Institute, as well as at the Art Students League in New York. She exhibited throughout the 1930s-50s, at the Art Institute of Chicago, Salons of America, National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and the National Association of Women Artists. As a young woman, Markham worked in the film industry (during WWI), but later turned to fine art as a full time career.

Myers was design director for Blenko Glass from 1963 to 1970. He went on to found the Glass Department at Illinois State University. He retired as Professor Emeritus in 1997. His works rarely appear at auction.
