Abraham Walkowitz, (American, 1878-1965), lot of two works, one pictured: Isadora Duncan, c. 1909; pencil and conte crayon/paper, 12.5" x 4.75", signed; with another: Isadora Duncan, ink and mixed media, 9.5" x 7.5", signed and dated, 1909. Walkowitz emigrated from Siberia to the U.S. in 1889. He studied at the National Academy of Design, and then in Paris. He exhibited regularly at Stieglitzs Photo-Secession Gallery in the 1910s; he also exhibited at the 1913 Armory Show. There was a major retrospective of his work in 1939 at the Brooklyn Museum. 1750-2250 | ||||||
