Joseph Hirsch (American), Portrait of Frank Kleinholtz, c. 1949; oil/canvas, 16" x 13", signed Joe, titled and dated lower center; accompanied by a photo certificate from Hirsch identifying the subject, the location (Paris), and the date (signed by the artist). Throughout his career, Hirsch painted the common man, and was generally considered a social realist. He studied with George Luks and in Philadelphia.
