| 512. Henry Bacon (American, 1839-1912), The Sacred Lake, c. 1880; watercolor, 29.5 x 19.5, signed and titled. Bacon was well known for his watercolors of Egypt and Normandy. Bacon went to Paris in 1864, and was one of the first Americans to be admitted to the Ecoles des Beaux-Arts, where he studied with Cabanel.
