Harvey Littleton is considered by many to be the father of the studio glass movement in the United States. He was born in Corning, NY in 1922, and was introduced to glass at an early age by his father, director of Research at Corning Glass Works. He received an M.A. from Cranbrook and established the first glass program at an American University the University of Wisconsin where he taught until 1977. His students included Dale Chihuly and Fritz Dreisbach. His work is represented in many museums and institutions.
