502. Remo Farruggio (Italian/American, 1904-1981), "Vanity", c. 1937; oil/canvas, 36" x 18" signed. Farruggio studied at the National Academy of Design and Beaux-Arts Institute of Design both in NYC. He was a member of the National Academy of Literature and Arts. Working in New York and Provincetown, he was close friends with Motherwell, the Soyers, and Chaim Gross. He was one of two WPA artists given a solo show at the Julien Levy Gallery (1939) and continued to travel and exhibit extensively in the US and Europe through to the 70’s. 1000-2000
