499. Bernard Chaet (American, b. 1924), "Angel", c. 1945; oil and wax/masonite, 51" x 28", signed; dated verso. Chaet studied at the Boston Museum Fine Art School with Karl Zerbe. He exhibited at the Institute of Modern Art (Boston), Los Angeles County Museum, ACA Gallery, University of Illinois, and the Museum of Modern Art (1940s-70s). He was the teaching professor of painting at Yale University. His work is in the Fogg Museum, Harvard University, UCLA, and the Rhode Island School of Design. 800-1200
