472. Sheila Burlingame (American, b. 1905), "Portrait of a Man", c. 1940; watercolor and ink (in brown)/paper, 10" x 8", signed. Burlingame studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League. She lived in St Louis, New York, and in Provincetown. She worked in a modernist style, and executed prints, sculpture, and paintings, which she exhibited at the St Louis Artists Guild, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and the National Academy of Design. 300-500
