429. Paul Turner Sargent (American, b. 1880), "Floral Still Life", c. 1920; oil/canvas, 24" x 20", signed and dated. Sargent painted in Charleston, IL, and specialized in colorful, impressionist works. He was invited by Adolph Shulz to visit Brown County, Indiana, which he did, and he liked it so much he returned there every autumn. He was a charter member of the Brown County Artist Association and exhibited at the Hoosier Salon for over twenty years. He also exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Laguna Beach Art Association, University of Illinois, Swope Art Museum (Terre Haute), Indiana University, and the Liebers Art Gallery (Indianapolis). Sargent painted in Los Angeles for a time in the 1920s. 2000-3000
