Frank Montague Moore (American, 1877-1967), "Smoke Trees", c. 1930; oil/board, 10" x 14", signed and titled; with a poem on verso, which reads, "Like burning coals, the desert flowers glow, beneath the ash white smoke trees, they would seem to be old fires burning in a dream to warm the ghosts of men long ago.", Carmel California artist. Moore settled in southern California in 1928, and specialized in scenes of the Monterey Peninsula and the desert near Palm Springs. 1000-1500
