411. Thomas Hill McKay (American, 1875-1941), "Near Kilcreggan with Arran in the Distance", c. 1900; oil/canvas, 12" x 18", signed. McKay was born in Scotland and studied in Glasgow before moving to the U.S. and settling in Los Angeles in 1923. His specilty was marine and landscape subjects, painted in the U.S. and in Scotland. He exhibited at the Glasgow Art Institute, Royal Academy (London), California Art Club, Painters and Sculptors of Los Angeles, and the Academy of Western Painters. 1500-2000
