405. John Ellsworth Weis (American, b. 1892), "Forest Interior", c. 1924; oil/canvas, 16" x 14", signed and dated. Cincinnati artist. Weis studied with Wessel, Duveneck, and Meakin , and was a member of the Cincinnati Art Club, Jafa Society, and the MacDowell Society. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (1920s-30s) and he taught at the Cincinnati Art Academy. 600-800
