381. Charles Alfred Meurer (American, 1865-1955), "A Summers Day Stroll", c. 1935; oil/board, 5" x 7", initialed and dated. Well known Cincinnati painter. Meurer painted trompe loeil still lifes early in his career, but later changed his style to loosely painted, colorful landscapes. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and his work is in the collections of the Park View Hotel, United Bank Building, and the Courier Press (all in Cincinnati). 300-500
