865. Henry Gasser (American 1909-1981), "Demon Station", c. 1953; gouache/paper, 22 x 28", signed and dated. Gasser studied at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, Grand Central School of Art, and the Art Students League, with Robert Brackman and John R. Grabach. He was a member of the National Academy of Design; American Watercolor Society; Audubon Artists; Philadelphia Watercolor Club; Salmagundi Club, and the Southern States Art League. He exhibited extensively throughout the 1930’s and 40’s at the Philadelphia Watercolor Society; the Smithsonian Institute; the San Francisco Museum of Art, High Museum of Art, and Audubon Artists. His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. 1500-2500
