852. Wallace Bassford (American, mid. 20th), "Nude with Flowers", c. 1980; oil/canvas, 36" x 30", signed. Bassford studied at the St. Louis School of Fine Art, University of Missouri, and at Washington University School of Fine Arts. He was a member of the St. Louis Artists Guild, Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists, Provincetown and Cape Cod Art Associations. Exhibited at the Kansas City Art Institute, 1933 (gold); City Art Museum of St. Louis, St. Louis Artists Guild, San Fransisco Museum of Art, 1941; and Grand Central Art Galleries, NY (1970s). His works are included at the Missouri State Capitol Building, University of Missouri, University of Syracuse and DeBeers Collection. Designed covers for Literary Digest, instructor at North Truro School of Art and taught privately in Palm Beach FL. He wrote Painting the Female Figure. 1000-2000
