| 813. Alexander Dzigurski (American/Yugoslavian, b. 1911), "Autumn Lake", c. 1955; oil/canvas, 20.5" x 24.5", signed. Dzigurski painted almost entirely this subject matter. He studied in Belgrade and in Munich. He was a member of the Fine Arts Institute, Los Angeles and the Society of Western Artists. Dzigurski fled Titos communist regime in Italy, and eventually settled in California in 1952. A New York Times critic once called him, "a poet of the sea".
