782. Charles A. Gray (American, 1857-1933), "Lillypond", c. 1915; oil/canvas, 24" x 18", signed. Studied in Paris and exhibited at the Society of Washington Artists in 1913. His work is in the collection of the U.S. Capitol. Portrait and landscape painter. Gray worked in the art department at the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Daily News , then moved to St Louis in 1903. He painted portraits of Lincoln and Mark Twain. 1000-2000
