| 771. Horace Burdick (American, 1844-1942) "The Bay", c. 1917; oil/board, 10" x 14", signed and dated. Burdick studied at Lowell Institute and at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts with Hollingsworth, Grundmann, and William Rimmer. He exhibited at the Mechanics Institute and the Brooklyn Art Association between 1873 and 1908, and at the National Academy of Design from 1880-86. His work is included in the collections of the State House, Faneuil Hall, Boston; Memorial Hall; Cambridge; New Hampshire Society, etc. He was a portrait, landscape and still life painter, as well as a writer. 800-1200 | ||||||
