746. Henry Golden Dearth (American, 1864-1918) "The Blue Pool", c. 1910; oil/panel, 18" x 21.75", signed. Dearth studied with Horace Johnson and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was a member of the Society of American Artists and the National Academy of Design. He exhibited at National Academy of Design (1888), Society of American Artists, Art Institute of Chicago (1889-90), Paris Expo, Pan-Am Expo, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Corcoran Gallery. He was known for his French landscapes, particularly of the coast of Normandy; he also painted in East Hampton, Long Island in the 1890’s. He was a collector of early European oriental and Near Eastern art, which he sometimes incorporated into his paintings. 6000-8000
