604. Ted (Theodore) Kautzsky (American, 1896-1953), "New England Harbor (#12, July)", c. 1930; pencil drawing/board, 10" x 9", signed. Kautzsky was born in Hungary, and received an architectural degree from the Royal University of Hungary. In 1923, he emigrated to the United States and worked as an architect for the New York City Parks Department. He also taught art at Pratt Institute, New York University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Toronto. His watercolors became widely known through exhibitions and his books on drawing and watercolor painting. 300-500
