Lot 441 441. Frank V. Dudley (American, 1868-1957), "Indiana Dunes", c.1950; oil/canvas, 27" x 30", signed and titled on frame verso in the artist's hand. Dudley was well known for his paintings of the Dunes. He worked in Chesterton, IN, and in Chicago. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Hoosier Salon ( he exhibited from the 1910s-1950s). He was an avid conservationist, and was a strong advocate for the preservation of the dune land in Northern Indiana. 2500-4500 |
