Lot 524 524. Edmund Brucker (American, b.1912), "Portrait of a Boy", c.1945; oil/canvas, 13" x 10.5", signed, original frame. Indianapolis modernist painter. Brucker taught at the John Herron School in Indianapolis, and was well known for his portraits. He was commission for portraiture by Phillips Petroleum Company, Eli Lilly, IU Law School, and the Indiana War Memorial Commission, among others. He exhibited extensively in the 1940s-70s, at the Hoosier Salon, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. 800-1200 |

Lot 526 526. Fred Green Carpenter (American, 1882-1965), "Three Figures", c.1925; oil/board, 22" x 18", initialed, fine new carved frame. Carpenter was an important student of Richard Miller. He painted in Paris from 1907-11, and then returned to St. Louis to teach at the Fine Art School.
