500. Pauline Palmer (American, 1867-1938), "View Outside of Paris", c.1911; oil/canvas, 18" x 24", signed.
Important Chicago impressionist painter. Palmer painted in Paris during the first decade of the twentieth century, with
fellow impressionist, Richard Miller. She painted colorful landscapes in Brittany and Giverny, some of which
she exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago's 1911 exhibition. She also exhibited at the Society of Western
Artists (1915), St. Louis World's Fair (1904), Chicago Artist's Guild (1915), and the Chicago Gallery Association (1920s).
This is a very fine, early example of Palmer's work in France.
