Edgar Yaeger (American, 1904-1997), "Artist at Work", c.1976; oil/board, 8.5" x 11.5", signed, from the estate of the artist. Important Detroit modernist painter. Yaeger worked in Paris with Lhote and O. Friesz . He exhibited at the Detroit Institute of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Modern Art, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (1930s-40s). His style was much more closely associated with the European modernists than American painters of the time. 1000-1500
