Edmund Henry Wuerpel (American, 1866-1958), "The Guarded Valley", c.1935; oil/canvas, 30" x 31",signed with monogram. A very important example of the artist's work. "The Guarded Valley" was one of the featured works included in a retrospective exhibition of Edmund Wuerpel's paintings at the St. Louis Artist Guild in 1988. The catalog shows a picture of Wuerpel at his easel, circa 1936, with this painting. 3000-5000
