Treadway Gallery sales leader in 20th Century Fine American & European Paintings 1046.Orrin Draver (American, 1895-1964), "Indiana Beeches", c.1940; oil/board, 18" x 24", signed, excellent original carved frame. Richmond, IN painter. Draver was born in Nebraska, and moved to Indiana as a boy. He worked in his father's milling machine business until 1932, when his father died. He sold the company and devoted himself entirely to painting. His dealer in Chicago was J.W. Young, and he also showed at Closson's and Aronoff's Galleries in Cincinnati. 500-700

Important Chicago landscape painter. Krafft co-founded the Ozark Society of Artists and also worked in Indiana. Treadway Gallery sales leader in 20th Century Fine American & European Paintings 1048.George Ames Aldrich (American, 1872-1941), "The Hillside", c.1910; oil/board, 8" x 10", signed. Aldrich studied at the Art Students League, and in Paris, with Whistler and Thaulow. He painted primarily French scenes and exhibited throughout the 1910s-20s, at the Chicago Gallery Association, Hoosier Salon, and the Societe des Artistes Francais. 800-1200

Important midwestern landscape painter. Krafft studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and then went to paint in Brown County, IN, and in the Missouri Ozarks (1915). He exhibited extensively throughout his lifetime, and his work is in the collections of University of Illinois, Los Angeles Museum, and the Nineteenth Century Women's Club (Oak Park, IL). 2500-3500
