1041. Edwin Burrage Child (American, 1868-1937), "Vermont Landscape", c.1931; oil/canvas, 25" x 30", signed and dated, fine carved frame. Child studied at the Art Students League and was the assistant to John LaFarge in the execution of glasswork and murals. His work is in the collections of the Boston Museum, New York Chamber of Commerce, National Museum of Art (Wash. D.C.), Amherst, and Yale University. 6000-8000 |

1042. Alfred Jansson (American/Swedish, 1863-1931), "Lake Arrow", c.1923; oil/canvas, 24" x 20", signed, dated, and titled, original carved frame. Jansson emigrated to Chicago in 1889, and spent most of his career there, painting impressionist landscapes. He studied in Stockholm and in Paris. He was a member of the Chicago Artist Club, Palette and Chisel Club, Swedish American Artists, and the Chicago Artist Guild. He exhibited at the Columbian Expo (1893) and the Art Institute of Chicago (1910s). 3000-5000 |
