This work is very similar in style to the work of Norton Bush, an early California painter. Bush studied with Frederick Church, and made numerous trips to Central and South America. Drew worked with Henry Pember Smith and the influence is very obvious, although Drew advances the element of impressionism slightly more than did Smith. He painted mostly landscapes, and exhibited at the National Academy of Design, Salons of America, and the Newark Museum. 400-600
