986. Charles Waltensperger (American, 1871-1931), "Spring Maidens", c.1910; oil/canvas, 22" x 26", signed, original frame. Detroit painter. Waltensperger studied at the Detroit Museum School under Joseph Gies, and then was awarded a scholarship to go to Paris. He spent a good deal of time in Laren, a major art colony in the Netherlands, painting Dutch interiors. He also worked as an illustrator. This is an excellent example of this artist's work. 2000-3000 |
